82nd Annual Independence Day Celebration Set for July 3rd

The City of McAllen's82nd annual 4th of July Celebration, themed "Freedom: An American Treasure"is set for Saturday, July 3, 2010.

Here's a rundown of the festivities:

  • 8:15 am Patriotic program & performance by the McAllen TownBand at Archer Park
  • 9:00 am Patriotic parade through Main Street, from Jackson Street to Archer Park
  • 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Music, food, refreshments, games, arts and crafts at Archer Park
  • 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Kiddie carnival, food, andrefreshments at Municipal Park
  • 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Public Swim at Municipal Pool
  • 9:00 pm 4th of July "Concert In the Sky", simulcast on the radio
