4 Fallen Servicemen to be Honored at Veterans Day Event

Names of the 4 most recent Valley servicemen to die fighting the war on terrorism will be officially unveiled at a Veterans Day program at the Veterans War Memorial of Texas, at 11 am, on Friday November 11 (11-11-11).

The Veterans War Memorial of Texas is located at 29th St. & Galveston, in McAllen.

The ROTC from La Joya High School, under the direction of Colonel Edson, and the ROTC from Mission High School, under the direction of Command Sgt. Major Richard Clem, will be in attendance and take part in the ceremony honoring these Valley heroes.

The keynote speaker will be Army Sgt. Major Kenneth Joseph who has served in both Iraq & Afghanistan and is currently stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Twenty-two other Sgt. Majors and first sergeants from Fort Sill will also be in attandance.

There will be a World War II sherman tank and a half track on display during the program. The public is encouraged to attend this program to honor, thank and remember our veterans and current military personnel.
