Message from State Representative Veronica Gonzales

August 5, 2010
Dear Friends:
As summer winds down, my re-election campaign to the Texas House is gearing up to full-speed. For the past six years, I have based my decisions on what is best for our region by listening to the residents of District 41.
The upcoming Legislative Session will be a critical one for Texas and the Rio Grande Valley. We face an $18 billion budget shortfall, legislative redistricting battles and many tough choices that will impact all of us. As Chair of the Border & Intergovernmental Affairs Committee and a member of the Public Health Committee, I have a decision-making role on issues that are critical for Texas and in particular to our area. Our region needs a representative who is serious about facing these challenges and has the proven experience to get the job done.
I would appreciate your support and your vote on November 2. You can help me until then by volunteering for my campaign, or putting a sign up in your yard. Beginning this weekend and every weekend until the election, campaign volunteers and I will go door-to-door speaking to the residents living in my district. If you would like to volunteer to knock on doors, make phone calls or receive a sign, please visit my campaign office at 5261 N. 23rd Street in McAllen or contact Marco Perez at (956) 789-1989 ormarco@veronicagonzales.com. This Saturday, breakfast will be served at 9 a.m., and block walking begins at 10 a.m.
I have included a few photos of the many legislative and community events I have attended this summer. I have enjoyed getting to meet many of you and look forward to continuing to serve you at the Texas Capitol.
Sincerely,
