TxDOT Announces Construction and Maintenance Work

 

Information received from the Texas Department of Transportation:

Construction & Maintenance Work- WEATHER PERMITTING
 
US 83 NEW
TxDOT will close underneath the US 83 Overpass on South 10th Street in McAllen to perform bridge repair and maintenance, Monday through Thursday, August 16-19 and August 23rd-26th from 9 pm to 6 am each night. US 83 westbound and eastbound Frontage Roads at 10th Street will remain open. Northbound and Southbound traffic on 10th Street will need to use the Frontage Road to access the next available intersection to proceed North or South.

 TxDOT closed the westbound US 83 exit ramp to Inspiration Road through August 30th to construct the La Homa Road exit ramp. Motorists will need to use the Los Ebanos exit ramp as alternate exit ramp.
 
US 83
Motorists can expect lane reductions on US 83 eastbound and westbound Frontage Roads from Sugar Road in Pharr to FM 494 (Shary Road) in Sharyland through September 27th. Crews are performing an asphalt overlay operation on the frontage roads.
  
BUS 83 
TxDOT continues detour of Scott Lane between Breyfogle and Bentsen Palm Drive in Palmview 
through August 31st to perform drainage work for the Business 83 project in Palmview. Motorists are advised to use the County Road-Tordillo Road as an alternate route.
US 281
US 281 northbound lanes from north of SH 285 (Forrest Street) to Magnolia Street in Falfurrias will be reduced to one lane through January 2011.

Motorists are advised to observe and obey all posted warning, construction, detour and speed limit signs.
