121 Properties Posted for Tax Foreclosure Resale

From Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP

Edinburg, Texas--A Tax Resale is scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Hidalgo County Courthouse, in the auditorium. Bidder registration begins at 8:30 am and the auction starts at 10 am. The properties being sold are located throughout Hidalgo County and are the result of lawsuits filed by the lawfirm of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP on behalf of governmental entities that are owed taxes.

The 121 properties were previously placed for foreclosure sale but did not receive a bid that satisfied the foreclosure judgement. The Property Tax Code permits these properties to be placed for tax resale and the entities may accept less than the judgement account.

Agustin Hernandez, an attorney with the Linebarger firm, explained these are properties that have been struck off to the taxing entities in trust. The properties are not currently accruing taxes.

"By selling these properties through the resale process, we are attempting to get $3,044,347.00 in value back on the tax roll for our governmental entity clients," Hernandez said. "Anyone interested in bidding may not be delinquent to any school district in Hidalgo County and must pay for the property by cashier check or money order by 2 pm on Monday, November 15, 2010."

The Tax Resale list identifies opening bids ranging from $98.00 to $151,380.00. For more information on the tax resale, you may contact Agustin Hernandez at (956) 289-7921 or Tony Martinez at (956) 289-7923.
